LPC Internship

Our mental health practice is currently seeking master level interns and/or practicum students to provide counseling and support to our practice. Professionals must be currently enrolled in a graduate program leading to an advanced degree in the helping disciplines (e.g. marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, clinical social work, etc).

Professionals seeking internship or practicum experience leading to graduate degrees in any of the following disciplines are encouraged to apply: Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work.

Applicants must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Prospective professionals will be placed in any of our programs which include the following:

Community Based Mental Health:

This professional would provide individual and family counseling to assigned children, adolescents, adults and/or families. The professional must have time management and organizational skills. Within this setting, our professionals will provide the following tasks: implementation of their service plans, individual and family counseling, consultation and collaboration with outpatient providers and schools, and provide linkages to support positive treatment outcomes. This placement allows flexible scheduling Sunday-Saturday at your leisure.

Our agency offers internship opportunities that include but are not limited to the following:

  • Clinical Supervision toward LPC with flexible scheduling.

Administration and Operations Internship

Stepping Stone Community Services is an organization working to help families and communities by providing mental health needs. The administrative and operations intern receives hands-on training from our in-office team on fundraising, donor relations, social media, and search engine optimization. The administrative and operations intern supports the in-office team and is flexible with roles and responsibilities changing week-to-week. This position is part-time and unpaid.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages the mailing of fundraising letters to potential donors

  • Assists with coordinating communications through email, phone, and mail

  • Assists with database management

  • Creates own personal fundraising campaign and meets targets

  • Updates content to achieve SEO targets

  • Represents the organization at community events

The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, is incredibly flexible, and has outstanding communication and organizational skills. They have a demonstrated ability to internalize feedback and adapt to the demands of the internship.


Accounting Intern

This internship will allow exposure to a wide-range of accounting functions described below in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position maintains internal controls and follows the authority matrix for areas of responsibility.


Essential Job Functions – Responsibilities

  • Assist with state sales tax filing and maintenance of sales tax exemption status

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned

  • Participate in the processing of supplier invoices

  • Assist with accounts receivable collections process for assigned accounts

  • Support all internal control audit activities related to responsibilities

  • Assist with processing Customer Credit Memos

  • Maintain daily cash summary for domestic bank accounts

  • Contact vendors for statements and missing invoices

  • File and maintain clerical records and reports

  • Distribute customer invoices via hard-copy, electronic, and portal

  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned by management

Education – Experience – Qualifications

  • In process of completing a 2 or 4-year degree in Accounting from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Ability to work at least 20 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week

  • Basic command of Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong communication skills – written, oral and inter-personal

  • Works independently with focus on accuracy and quality
