Mediation is an excellent way for two or more persons to resolve differences. The parties meet with an expert (a mediator) and explain their differences, perspectives and ideas for a resolution. The mediator helps the parties come to a compromise. This agreement is written documentation that each person agrees to abide by. In some cases, the agreement is signed by a judge and made a legal document.
Goals of mediation:
Find an agreement that both parties are willing to adhere to.
Come to a compromise that has benefits and solutions both parties feel comfortable with.
Allows both parties to voice concerns, perspectives, solutions and ideas in a supportive environment.
